The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has officially released the official schedule for the PMSSS 2026 Round 2 Choice Filling. Following the successful completion of the Round 1 seat allocation and reporting process, candidates from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh who were not allotted seats, opted for upgradation, or are participating in the subsequent round can now submit and lock their preferences.

Key Update: The PMSSS 2026 Round 2 choice filling portal is active from 24th August 2026 to 26th August 2026.

Overview of PMSSS Scholarship Scheme

The Prime Minister’s Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS) is a central government initiative designed to empower and financially support eligible youth from Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh to pursue undergraduate studies in top institutions outside the Union Territories. The scholarship covers full academic fees (tuition and mandatory institutional charges) alongside a recurring maintenance allowance to assist with hostel, mess, and living expenses.

Eligible Streams and Courses

The PMSSS framework provides financial coverage across three primary educational categories:

• General Degree Stream: B.A., B.Sc., B.Com, BBA, BCA, Hotel Management, and related humanities, commerce, and science programs.
• Professional Degree Stream: B.Tech, B.E., B.Pharm, B.Arch, and other technical professional courses.
• Medical & Allied Courses: BSc Nursing and other specialized healthcare disciplines covered under the prescribed AICTE norms.

PMSSS 2026 Round 1 Conclusion & Round 2 Schedule

The Round 1 allotment process, including document verification and initial reporting, has now completely concluded. Available vacant seats across diverse technical and general colleges have been pooled for the second round.

Step-by-Step Guide for Round 2 Choice Filling

Candidates participating in the second counseling round must follow these steps carefully to ensure their preferences are saved and submitted before the deadline:

1. Visit the Official Portal: Open your web browser and navigate to the official AICTE JK PMSSS admission portal.
2. Login to Student Dashboard: Enter your registered Candidate ID/Email and Password to log in.
3. Navigate to Choice Filling: On the dashboard, locate and click on the 'Proceed for Choice Filling' tab.
4. Select Colleges and Courses: Filter and select your desired institutions, branches, and courses based on your academic eligibility and preference hierarchy. Add as many choices as possible to maximize admission chances.
5. Rearrange Preferences: Adjust the priority order of selected choices to ensure top preferences appear at the top.
6. Save and Submit: Carefully review your selections, click the Submit / Lock Choices button, and keep a printed or digital copy of the submitted preference list for future reference.

Important Tip: Ensure that your choice filling is completed well before the deadline on 26th August 2026. Late submissions or unattended preference forms will not be considered for Round 2 seat allotment.
