J&K Labour Scholarship Scheme 2026: Registration Started, Eligibility & How to Apply

Good news for the students of Jammu and Kashmir! The J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB) has officially started the process for the Labour Scholarship Scheme 2026. This scheme provides financial assistance to the children of registered construction workers to help them pursue their education without any financial burden.

Scholarship Benefits (Financial Assistance)

The scholarship amount varies based on the class/course of the student:

• Class 1st to 5th: ₹2,500
• Class 6th to 8th: ₹3,500
• Class 9th to 10th: ₹4,500
• Class 11th to 12th: ₹6,000
• Higher/Professional Courses: Up to ₹10,000 - ₹50,000 (depending on the course)

Eligibility Criteria

To apply for the JK Labour Scholarship 2026, students must meet the following requirements:

1. The applicant's parent must be a Registered Construction Worker with the JKBOCWWB.
2. The Labour Card (BOCW Card) must be Active and Renewed for the current year.
3. The student must be enrolled as a regular student in a recognized government or private educational institution.
4. The applicant must belong to the Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory.

Important Documents Required

Keep these scanned documents ready before filling out the application form:

• Labour Card: Copy of the active registration card of the parent.
• Aadhaar Card: Both student and parent’s Aadhaar.
• Bonafide Certificate: From the current School/College/University.
• Previous Year Marks Card: To verify academic records.
• Bank Passbook: Scanned copy of the student’s bank account (Aadhaar linked).
• Fee Receipt: Current year's admission or tuition fee receipt.

How to Apply Online?

Follow these steps to submit your application on the official portal:

1. Visit the official website of JKBOCW: jkbocw.gov.in.
2. Click on the "Education Assistance" or "Scheme Registration" section.
3. Login using the registered Labour Card details or Registration Number.
4. Fill out the scholarship application form with correct student details.
5. Upload the required documents in the prescribed format (PDF/JPG).
6. Submit the form and Download the Acknowledgement Receipt for future reference.

Note: Students are advised to apply as early as possible and ensure their parent's Labour Card is not expired, as the verification process depends on the card's validity.
