Important Update: The previously considered CUET (Common University Entrance Test) or regular entrance-based format for undergraduate admissions has been officially cancelled/modified for general stream admissions in J&K Degree Colleges. Admissions are strictly being processed based on academic merit and academic preferences via the centralized portal.

The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir is all set to release the highly anticipated First Selection List for undergraduate (UG) admissions into various Degree Colleges across the UT today. Thousands of students who applied for admission into BA, BSc, BCom, and other professional courses are eagerly waiting for the results.

According to official sources, the wait is almost over. The First Selection List is scheduled to be officially uploaded on the JK Admission portal by 9:00 PM tonight. Students are advised to keep their login credentials ready to access their allotment status as soon as the portal goes live.

How to Check J&K Degree College First Selection List

Students can easily check their selection status and allotted college online by following these simple step-by-step instructions:

1. Visit the official J&K Admission portal (Samarth Portal).
2. Click on the "Login" button available on the homepage.
3. Enter your registered Username / Form Number and Password.
4. Solve the captcha security code and click on submit.
5. On your dashboard, look for the "Seat Allotment Status" or "Selection List" link.
6. Your allotted college and course will be displayed on the screen.
7. Download the allotment letter and take a printout for the physical verification process.

What to Do After Selection? (Important Guidelines)

Once your name appears on the selection list, you must complete the following formalities within the stipulated timeframe to secure your seat:

• Accept the Seat: Log in to your portal and accept the allotted college before the last date.
• Document Verification: Visit the allotted degree college physically with all original documents (10th/12th Marks sheets, Provisional/Character certificates, Category certificate, and Domicile certificate).
• Online Fee Payment: After successful physical verification by the college committee, pay your admission fee online through the portal to finalize your seat.
