NEET UG 2025 Counselling by MCC, Begins July 21: Check Details
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially rolled out the much-anticipated counselling schedule for NEET UG 2025, bringing a wave of excitement and clarity for medical aspirants across India. For those who aced the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025, conducted on May 4, 2025, and whose results were declared on June 14, 2025, the journey to securing a seat in MBBS, BDS, or BSc Nursing programs is about to take a significant step forward.
Starting July 21, 2025, candidates can register for the first round of counselling through the official MCC website, mcc.nic.in.
The NEET UG 2025 counselling process is a critical phase for candidates aiming to secure seats in medical and dental colleges across India. Managed by the MCC under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the counselling will cover admissions for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, 100% seats in central and deemed universities, and institutions like AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU, and ESIC colleges, as well as the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune.
The process is primarily online, with physical reporting required only after seat allotment for document verification and admission confirmation. This year, the MCC has planned four main rounds of counselling—Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and a Stray Vacancy Round—to ensure all available seats are filled. If seats remain vacant after these rounds, additional stray vacancy rounds may be conducted.
The entire process is set to conclude by October 3, 2025, with classes for undergraduate medical courses commencing on September 1, 2025. With over 1.18 lakh MBBS seats up for grabs and approximately 12.36 lakh candidates competing, the stakes are high, and understanding the schedule and process is crucial.
