J&K Board Reintroduces March-November Academic Session for 2025
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has announced the return of the March-November academic session for the 2025 academic year, reversing the earlier November exam schedule. This shift aims to streamline the academic calendar, aligning it with national standards and addressing challenges faced by students and schools in the region.
The decision to revert to the March-November session comes after feedback from students, parents, and educators. The previous November exam schedule, introduced during the pandemic, caused disruptions, including delays in result announcements and conflicts with national-level competitive exams. By moving back to the traditional academic calendar, JKBOSE seeks to provide students with a more balanced preparation period and reduce scheduling conflicts.
The March-November cycle gives students ample time to prepare for board exams, ensuring better academic performance.
Official Statements
A senior JKBOSE official stated, “The March-November session is a return to a system that works better for our students and aligns with national academic norms. We’re committed to ensuring a smooth transition.” The board is also working on updating its website with the latest notifications and resources to keep stakeholders informed.
This move is expected to benefit over 10 lakh students across the Union Territory. By aligning with the broader Indian academic framework, JKBOSE aims to enhance educational outcomes and create a more predictable schedule for students, teachers, and parents.
