The government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has launched this initiative PMIS Prime Minister Internship Scheme in 2024. The main aim of this scheme is to empower young generation by providing them with internship opportunities at top companies of the country. 

This flagship initiative started to close the knowledge gap between academia and industry is PMIS. It gives young people access to 12-month internships that expose them to real-world problems and give them practical experience. Students studying undergraduate, graduate, or certificate programs in a variety of fields are eligible for the program.

Features of the PM Internship Scheme

• The Time frame of this Internship is12 months

• Eligibility: Indian nationals enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, or diploma programs who are between the ages of 21 and 24. 

• Stipend: ₹500 from the business and ₹4,500 from the government each month. 

• Insurance Coverage: The Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana provide insurance coverage for interns. 

• One-Time Grant: A ₹6,000 one-time grant for unforeseen costs
