JKBOPEE B.E / B.Tech Counselling 2026: 2nd Round Online Preference Filling Starts, Check Eligibility and Key Rules

The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has officially released the notification for the conduct of the 2nd Round of Online Counselling for admission to B.E/B.Tech courses for the academic session 2026. This round is being conducted to fill up the vacant seats left after the first round and the shortfall reported by various Government and Private Engineering Colleges across the UT of J&K.

Online Preference Filling Period: From 12-06-2026 (11:30 AM onwards) up to 15-06-2026 (Midnight).

Who is Eligible for JKBOPEE B.Tech 2nd Round Counselling?

Candidates who fall under the following categories are eligible to participate and submit their fresh choices:

• No Seat Allotted: Candidates who participated in the first round but were not allotted any seat.
• Joined Candidates: Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round and successfully joined their respective institutions (eligible for upgradation).
• Non-Joined Candidates: Candidates who were allotted a seat in the first round but chose not to join. (Note: They cannot apply for the same course in the same institution, but can opt for other courses or other institutions).
• Cancelled Admission: Candidates who cancelled their first-round admission before the last date. (Note: Same restriction applies; not eligible for the same course in the same college, but open to other options).
• Fresh Participants: Qualified CET-2026 candidates who did not participate in the first round of counselling at all.

Crucial Rules and Guidelines for Candidates

Before logging into the portal, every applicant must understand these essential terms set by the Board:

1. Fresh Preferences Mandatory: The choices and preferences submitted during the first round are now deemed cancelled. Every candidate must fill out a fresh choice-filling form. If you fail to submit fresh choices, you will not be considered for seat allotment in this round.
2. Counselling Fee:
   • Candidates who already paid the fee in Round 1 do not need to pay again.
   • Fresh participants who skipped Round 1 must pay an online counselling fee of Rs. 1000/- before filling choices.
3. Category-Wise Allotment: Only vacant seats from respective categories will be filled based on merit-cum-preference. Open Merit (OM) vacant seats will go to OM candidates, and category vacant seats will go to category candidates. Upgradation vacancies will be filled simultaneously.
4. Locking Careful Choices: Once a seat is allotted in the second round, it cannot be changed under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to evaluate choices thoroughly before submitting.

Important Note on Seat Matrix: JKBOPEE will upload the official seat matrix separately on its website. All eligible candidates are highly recommended to review the available seat matrix before locking their preferences.

How to Fill Online Preferences

Follow these steps to complete your choice filling:

1. Visit the official JKBOPEE admission portal at www.jkbopee.gov.in.
2. Log in using your CET application credentials.
3. Complete the counselling fee payment of Rs. 1000/- (only if applying freshly for the first time).
4. Navigate to the Choice Filling section and select your preferred colleges and streams in order of priority.
5. Review your choices carefully and submit the preferences before the deadline on June 15, 2026.
