The Indian Army has officially released the notification for the 10+2 Technical Entry Scheme (TES-56). This is a premier opportunity for young male aspirants to join the Indian Army as Commissioned Officers. This entry is unique as it allows candidates to undergo a permanent commission while pursuing a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree funded by the government.

Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM). A minimum aggregate of 60% marks in PCM is mandatory. Furthermore, appearing in the JEE Mains 2026 is a compulsory requirement for shortlisting.
2. Age Limit
The candidate must not be below 16½ years and above 19½ years on the first day of the month in which the course is due to commence. For TES-56, the applicant should be born between July 2, 2007, and July 1, 2010 (both dates inclusive).
Selection Process
The selection process for the Technical Entry Scheme involves:
- Shortlisting: Based on JEE Mains 2026 Rank and 10+2 PCM percentage.
- SSB Interview: A 5-day assessment at specialized Selection Centres.
- Medical Board: Comprehensive health fitness check for military duty.
Training and Commission
Selected candidates undergo 1 year of basic military training at OTA Gaya, followed by 4 years of technical engineering at Army cadet training wings. Upon completion, officers are granted a Permanent Commission in the rank of Lieutenant.
