J&K Healthcare Boost: Govt Sanctions 64 New Posts for Bone and Joint Hospital’s New Block
Srinagar: In a major move to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir, Health Minister Sakina Itoo announced on Sunday that the government has sanctioned 64 new positions to fully operationalize the additional block at the Bone and Joint Hospital.
The decision aims to ensure that the newly inaugurated 120-bed facility is not just a building, but a fully functional center equipped with specialized medical professionals and support staff.
Driving Progress Under CM Omar Abdullah’s Leadership
The Health Minister highlighted that under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the construction and inauguration of the new block were prioritized and expedited. While the block was initially functioning through internal staff adjustments, formal approval for permanent staffing has now been granted following clearance from the Finance Department and the Council of Ministers.
"This decision reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that healthcare infrastructure is not only developed but also adequately staffed and accessible to the public," the Minister stated.
