JKBOSE Class 10 Exams Passing Marks in 2025: Check Details
To pass the JKBOSE Class 10 board exams, you need to score at least 33% marks in every single subject and also get an overall aggregate of 33% across all subjects.
This rule applies to both the annual regular exams (whether in the soft zone, hard zone, or winter zone areas).
For subjects that have separate theory and practical/internal assessment parts, you must pass each component individually, just getting 33% in the total isn't always enough.
How the Marks Are Usually Divided
Most main subjects follow the pattern as
Theory paper: 80 marks
Internal assessment / Practical: 20 marks
Total: 100 marks
But with the given relaxation earlier and as per total marks of each paper you must have qualified 33% of those marks for each subject accordingly.
You must meet the 33% requirement in both parts separately (or as per the specific rule for the subject).
Vocational and Additional SubjectsIf you're taking a vocational subject, the breakdown changes:Theory: 30 marks → need at least 10 marks
Practical: 50 marks → need at least 16 marks
Internal assessment: 20 marks → need at least 7 marks
Still, the overall subject total must be 33 out of 100 to pass.
Additional/optional subjects (like Computer Science, Kashmiri, Punjabi, Sanskrit, etc.) also follow the 100-mark total pattern and require passing in each component as applicable.
What If You Fail in a Few Subjects?
Don't panic! If you fail in one or two subjects, you're still eligible to appear in the supplementary (bi-annual) exams. Clearing those can save your year and help you move forward without losing time.
