In India, the NSP functions similarly to a one-stop shop for scholarships. In addition to other organisations like AICTE and UGC, it brings together other scholarship programs from the federal and state governments. There is probably a scholarship for you, regardless of whether you are in school, college, or even working towards a PhD.
You can apply online from anywhere, and the funds are transferred directly to your bank account using a system known as Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
How to Log in to NSP
● Click on "New Registration" after visiting scholarships.gov.in.
● To obtain an OTR number, you will require your Aadhaar number or Aadhaar Enrolment ID. You only need to register once because this 14-digit number will be yours for the duration of your academic career.
● Visit the login page after obtaining your OTR number. To access your account, enter your password and OTR ID.
● You can apply for new scholarships or renew current ones for the 2024–2025 school year directly from your account.

Important Dates for 2024–2025
Scholarship deadlines differ, however the following dates are important to remember:
Deadlines for applications: The majority of state and federal programs shut down between November 15, 2024, and December 31, 2024.
The deadline for completing institute verifications and checking applications for errors was January 23, 2025. Verifications of nodal officers ceased on January 31, 2025.
Although some payments are still waiting, payments began in February 2025. The remaining payments should arrive in April or May of 2025.
The precise dates may vary for each scholarship, so always check the official NSP website.
Documents You will Require
You need these documents when you apply:
1. The Aadhaar card
2. Passbook for a bank
3. Certificates of education
4. Certificate of domicile (if necessary)
5. Certificate of income
6. Certificate of caste, if applicable
7. Authentic student ID (if your school or college is located in a separate state)
How to Verify the Status of Your Scholarship Payment
● Go to pfms.nic.in.
● To view your payment status, click the "Know Your Payment" button.
● Enter your NSP application ID, account number, or bank name.
● After entering the captcha code, click "Search."
● You will be able to see if your payment has been processed or is still waiting.
Do not freak out if you do not see your money. Aadhaar inconsistencies, missing paperwork, or problems with verification can all cause delays. Verify that your application information is accurate and that your bank account is connected to your Aadhaar.
