NEET-UG 2025 New Rule; Check Details Here

NEET UG 2025: NTA introduces a new tie-breaking rule; Check Details

According to NTA, an impartial expert committee will offer advice and settle a tie by a "random process" if it cannot be settled using the current procedure. A new rule has been adopted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to break ties in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG 2025) scores in the event that the current ones are insufficient to reach a decision.

There will be 90 biology (botany+zoology) questions and 45 physics and chemistry questions on the NEET UG 2025 exam. The exam will last for 180 minutes. The NEET UG 2025 online registration process is now open at neet.nta.nic.in. On March 7, the window will close at 11:50 p.m. On May 4, the exam will be administered offline in a single shift from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm using OMR sheets. For additional information, candidates should visit the official website.

The following formula will be used to assess inter-se-merit if two or more applicants receive identical marks or percentile scores on the NEET UG 2025: In the All India Rank (AIR) list, preference will be given to the candidate with the highest marks or percentile score in Biology (Botany & Zoology), followed by the candidate with the highest marks or percentile score in Chemistry, the candidate with the highest marks or percentile score in Physics, the candidate with the lowest percentage of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers across all test subjects, the candidate with the lowest percentage of attempted incorrect answers and correct answers in Biology (Botany & Zoology), and the candidate with the lowest percentage of attempted incorrect answers and the right answers in Chemistry, then the candidate who attempted the fewest amount of wrong responses and the right answers in Physics.

NTA will use a random procedure under the direction of an impartial expert committee to settle the tie if these seven criteria are met and it still exists. But there are other changes to NEET UG 2025 as well. Beginning in 2025, the National Testing Agency (NTA) will resume its pre-COVID pattern. This implies that there will be two other notable changes to the examination in comparison to the previous year: there will be fewer questions and less time to complete the test. Temporarily included during the COVID-19 epidemic, optional questions will no longer be relevant.
