The jammu and kashmir High court has issued the notification no (No:1841 of 2024/RG/GS) dated 08-08-2024 for the recruitment of district judges( entry level).

The jammu and kashmir high court has issued 16 posts for district judges in the pay line with  J-5(144840-194660) 

Eligibility:

A candidate must posses a degree in law from accredited university established by indian law.

A candidate must be practising advocacy and been in feild for atleast seven years and must submit a certificate of experience issued by the concerned higher principal district/ session jurist/registrar judicial of any wing of High court.

A candidate must be proficient in both reading and writing Urdu.


Age limit:

For OM not less than 35 years and not older than 45

For sc /st/obc categories there will be relaxation of two years.

Selection process:

A written examination will be conducted for the direct recruitment.

There will be two papers each paper will carry 80 marks followed by interview carrying 40 marks.

A candidate must obtain 60 percent in both written and interview.

For categories it will be 50 percent in both written examination and interview.

Intrested applicants must fill the form online through official site of high court of jammu and kashmir https://jkhighcourt.nic.in/ and go to e-application tab.

And pay the fee that is 1200 in online mode only.

Syllabus for the examination:

There will be two papers comprising of three parts.

The duration for both papers will be of 2 hours.


                     Paper 1

Part 1

a) Precise essay writing.

b) Indian constitution

c) Legal maxism

d) Translation of passage in urdu/ hindi to english.


Part 2

a) Judgement writing on civil original and civil appellate side.

b) Laws relating to

  ¡) Partnership 

  ¡¡)Contracts and Arbitration 

  ¡¡¡)Transfer of property Act 1882

  iv) Jammu and kashmir agrarian reform Act 1976

  v) Jammu and kashmir state evacuees (Administration of property) Act 2006

  vi) Jammu and kashmir alienation of land Act 1995(1938 A.D)

  vii) Specific relief Act 1936.

c) Laws relating to compensation under the motor vehicles Act 1988.

d) Laws relating to Marriages, divorce ans succession governing Hindus,Muslims, Christians, and Buddhists.


Part 3

a) Civil Procedure Code 1908.

b)Interpretation of Statues.

c)Laws relating to acquisition and requisition of immovable property.

d)Laws relating to Guardianship, Succession Certificate, Probate and Letters of Administration.

e)Laws relating to Eviction of unauthorized occupants from public premises.

Part-1

a)Code of Criminal Procedure 1973/Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.

b)Indian Penal Code, 1860/Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023 c) Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015.

Part-2

a) Judgment Writing on Criminal Original and Criminal Appellate side.

b)Indian Evidence Act, 1872/Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023

c)Penal Laws in force in the state relating to Arms, Enemies and Terrorist related activities.


Part-3

a) Jammu and Kashmir Civil Service Regulations.

b)General Financial Rules.

c)Medical Jurisprudence.

d)Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and Narcotic, Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.
