As dry spell prolonged MET says similar trends seen in past in jammu kashmir 

Freezing night temperature continues as Srinagar records minus 4.0 degree celcius.

Srinagar Jan 12 2024: As prolonged dry weather led to increase tempt day by day in jammu kashmir with Banihal surpassing all time day record with 23.4 degree celcius previous day, 

Weather department here in Friday saiid years with prolonged dry spell  in past 2018,2016,2015 also showed similiar trends id maximum temperature. 

Due to prolonged dry spell the maximum temperature at many stations recorded 6-8 degree calcius above normal with highest maximum temperature recorded over banihal.

MET department Srinagar said that dry weather likely to be continue till 20th of January 2024 with freeble winds approaching on January 12th and 17th
