UGC Declares M Phil As Non Recognised Degree, Directs Universities To Stop Admissions For 2024

 UGC declares M Phil as non recognised degree and directs all the universities to halt admissions from Academic SESSION 2023 24. 

The University Grants Comission on december 27 directs all the universities in India to stop thge admissions for M Phil, stating that its not recognised degree, UGC Secretary Manish Joshi directs all the students not to join the M Phil from thias year onwards as its not a valid degree and not approved by the UGC

It has been come to the notice that few universities are inviting fresh application for m phil programme. In this regard it is to bring to the notice that M Phil degree is not a recognised degree new agency quotes that UGC Secretary Manish Joshi as saying

The regulation no 14 of the UGC regulations 2002 clearly states that heigher education departments shall not offer first admissions to M Phil degree from 2022 onwards.
